Goodbye Cre8tive Cre8tions

Andrea at Cre8tive Cre8tions has been on busy woman, and with that means not enough time to dedicate to a design team to show off her store product, including paper, stamps, and flair.  I have loved my time with her and some super talented women from all around the world.  I wish her all the success in the world and am grateful that I will be able to keep up with her adventures through Facebook and Instagram.

I thought that today I would share with you the last of my projects created for her back in June.
The other Mr. of our home, using some Pink Paislee and Silhouette cuts.
Some added Chic Tags goodies, and Silhouette cuts here.
All Cre8tive Cre8tions papers with some masking and Silhouette cuts.
Another opportunity come and gone.  I will always be grateful to Andrea and Thomas (her hubby and partner in the biz) for giving me the chance to work with their fun products and represent their business.

Thanks for stopping by friends.  I hope this weekend brings you rest, and lots of time with the ones you love most. Pin It

Bring On The Cheese

I've got this layout up on the Scraptastic Club blog.  It's created using the July Out On The Town Kit. Hop over to the blog to see how I created the sunburst like background.

There two are such characters it was pretty easy putting a layout together the suited the hammy feel of the photos. Pin It

Shine On

Yesterday, I had my last reveal for Let's Get Sketchy.  Today I'm saying goodbye to Use It Tuesday with this selfie layout.

the quote is one that popped up in my IG feed, sorry I can't remember who posted it.
I think this is my favourite layout made for this Design Team.  The challenge is called Bring On The Sunshine.  I decided to go with a layout that featured a sunshine-y feel to it.  I used a ton of hoarded stash on this one.  Some call it hoarded, some call it forgotten, either way it was just hanging around, and now it's finally being put to good use.

All those lovely fabric hexagons we giving to me ages ago by my sweet friend Tara.  I inked them up with Tim Holtz distress, and some Prima Marketing chalk ink.

Those yellow Sassafras alphabets are my absolute faves.  I've been hanging onto them for ages.  I just love that shade of yellow, and the size of these guys.  They were a perfect match, however, so I just had to use them on this layout too.  The cardstock stickers are also old Crate Paper stash.

The masking was created using my Silhouette Cameo and some Heidi Swapp Colour Shine in Mustard.  My failed attempt at using Modeling Paste to Mask in white beneath the spray ink is still somewhat visible, but it certainly doesn't look like I had intended.  I simply used too much.   And the flower was made by cutting up a coffee filter and spraying the strips with different shades of yellow, then adhering them all in layers to a Gluber, another longtime unused item.  And that center piece, now that is something that I truly have been legitimately been hoarding for a long, long time.  I can't even remember where I got that resin flower, I think it was a freebie from a crop or something.  It felt good to actually use it up, the flower is my favourite part of this layout.

So that's it for me.  I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with Siobhan, Heather, and the rest of the girls, especially my girl Danielle.  They were all so welcoming when I came on board, it was an easy team to serve with them.  I am thankful to have had the opportunity and look forward to seeing where the team goes from here.  I wish them all the very best.

To link up with them, by creating your own "Sunny" project using mostly items from your stash, and to see the rest of the DT projects, just jump over here.

Thanks for stopping by today friends.  Only 4 more day of school left here. The countdown is on. Pin It

So Yummy

Have you tried the Oreo Birthday Cake cookies?

I think they only come out once a year.  They are hard to find here, and only have about a kagillion calories each, but oh man are they ever delicious.  Like opening a birthday party in a bag, I tell you.  They smell like cotton candy and look so happy with their little bits of colourful candy.  I loved them so much I just had to create a layout all about em.
This was a dt project for Cre8tive Cre8tions.  I really like to document out of the ordinary things in my scrapping.  Of course my family is super important to me and generally the main focus of my scrapping, but I think it'll be great to look back through my albums in 20, 30, maybe even 40 years, and see a reflection of all the little things that make me, me.  My love of sweets definitely deserves a place among the many, many pages of the people, hobbies, and places I love.

I used some of the funky yellow patterned paper from the shop, and well as a few of the stamps.  The "oh yes" stamp is a Technique Tuesday design.  And notice the resist design in the background?  I'll have a tutorial on how to make your own resist coming up on the Cre8tive Cre8tion blog soon.  Keep an eye out for it.

Here is one of the many, many fabulous flair buttons Andrea designs.   Check them out in the shop here.
I love, love that triangle stamp.  I have a hard time NOT using it on any of my Cre8tive Cre8tions projects.  The 2 smaller stamps are also from that same set.  You can see the rest in that collection here in the shop.  And see that fabulous houndstooth paper?  It's actually tissue paper that came in some scrappy packaging.  I loved it so much, I just had to save it to incorporate into a project.

You can see the original post of this project on the blog.  You'll also be inspired by many other fabulous designs while you're there.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I'll be back tomorrow with a Chic Tags project to share with you. Pin It

He Loves Him

I used Glitz design to create my layout for this week's Let's Get Sketchy Reveal.

Ashley created a fabulous sketch for us to work with.  I loved it, it was different than my usual style, but yet easy to work with.

Created this layout to document the fact Wilson our poodle may not act like he cares for Darwin much (as proved by the way he is my second shadow all day long, and then Isabelle's shadow once she arrives home from school), but really he loves the daddy too.  He was super happy to have the whole family back home after we'd been away for Spring Break, and was particularly happy to have some cuddle time with the man of the house.  Darwin doesn't usually pay Wilson too much attention, but he was pretty happy to have some cuddle time with this little guy too.  It was a win-win.

Pop over to the Let's Get Sketchy blog to see some more fabulous takes on the Ashley's sketch, and link up your own.  Did you know that if you play along with us for 3 out of 4 of our monthly sketches you are eligible to win our sponsor prize?  And just simply for playing along you may get a chance to be our featured Artist or Member spotlight for the month.  Hope to see you jumping in.  We love to see your work. Thankful

Happy Friday friends!

This little hobby of scrapping that we all share is so much more than just pretty paper, and embellishments.  I have really enjoyed meeting some wonderful people all around the world because of it.  The internet is what brings us all together.  Just think how many scrappers were out there 20 years ago off in their corner of the world wondering if they were the only ones who loved playing with photos, and paper so much.

Meet my friends Carla, and Lee-Anne.

I recently had a chance to connect with both of them at one time.  It happened during my trip to Calgary for Spring break a few weeks ago.  They live about an hour apart from one another, they hadn't met in person before, but they knew each other through online crafting sites/blogs.  Of course I had to meet up with them.  It turns out I was staying in the same neighbourhood where Carla lives, so she graciously offered to come and pick me up.  Together we set out to meet up with the ever adorable Lee-Ann at a restaurant around the mid-way point for all of us.  A great meal, and a wonderful opportunity to get to know two sweet women who love this hobby as much as I do.  I am so grateful to the World Wide Web for introducing me to these ladies.  It has been a joy serving on different design teams with both of them.  I have don't doubt that we'll meet up again one day.

Getting Glitzed!

It's humpday, hooray!

I was finally was able to use some of the new Glitz Design Color Me Happy Collection I picked up about a month ago.  I could't resist the bright pops of colour, the giant rhinestones, the roller stamp, and the super cute rainbow alphabet stickers.  Everything fit perfectly with this photo of D and I on our last night in Mexico back in February.
The journaling up top reads: Enjoying our last night in Mexico

Created this for the Colour Challenge at Crop & Create Winnipeg, and won - yay!
It may bot be easily noticeable, but my poor guy was suffering from heat stroke in this shot.  After spend a couple of hours in the water (and re-applying sunscreen), he ended up still getting burned to a crisp.  I've never seen anyone burn so bad.  We ended up leaving the party shortly after this pic, because he just needed to get himself to bed, before our flight out the next morning.  Good times.  Painful for one of us.  But a fabulous little 4 day getaway.

On another note, I apologize for not being around much lately.  I've started a new business, and have been focusing on getting that ramped up.  I won't disappear completely, I promise, but I definitely have not been in my scrap room as much over that past couple of weeks.  And speaking of scrapping.  I got a wonderful surprise email the other day, offering me a really great opportunity.  I can't wait to share it with you, but it will be a few weeks before I'm able to let the cat out of the bag.  Until then, you can continue to follow along with my blog via Bloglovin.

Thanks for stopping by today, have a wonderful Wednesday friends! Pin It

Hybrid Titles - Masking

Morning all!

Thought I'd share a tutorial that I had up on the Chic Tags blog with all of you today.

I often use multiple style stickers and/or fonts for my titles, but in this case I decided to incorporate multiple medias as well.

I have no doubt that we all have at least one package of these sitting around.
Look familiar?  Old alphabet stickers we've had for years, that are now falling loose in their packaging.  Creating a masked title is a great way to use these guys up.

The first thing I did was lay down all my elements on the page in my preferred design.  Don't be afraid to lightly press your alphabet stickers down, as there is so little adhesive left on oldies that they remove quite easily once masked.

Once I knew where things were generally going to be, I removed everything I did not want to be masked.

Using my gorgeous Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Primrose I sprayed over my title area, as well as on the bottom right of where my photo/embellished cluster would sit.  Next I splattered a few Mr. Huey's in Lemonade (a nice soft yellow) around the page.
Once all my misting was complete I used my Making Memories tweezers to remove the letters (this keeps my hands clean of all the mist laying on top of the alphabet stickers).
Now I am free to adhere the rest of my page elements.  The word "love" is a Silhoutte cut file that I've sprayed with Taxi colour Mr. Huey's.
After adding the journaling to my hidden Chic Tag, my layout was complete.  But looking at it, I felt it was still looking a little plain Jane.  To fix the situation I added one more shade of Mr. Huey's splatters in Bluegrass, it's pretty much a perfect match to the blue/green shade in the Road Trip Collection.

And this is the finished layout.
Hope you're feeling inspired to give masking and/or a hybrid title a go.  Feel free to pop over the the Chic Tags blog to see links to all the tags I've used on this project.

That's it for me.  As always thanks for popping in today, I hope you're in for a great weekend. Pin It

Cre8tive Cre8tions

Remember when I told you about Cre8tive Cre8tions?  It's a new scrapbook supply company out of Germany.  Andrea and her husband Thomas started their little company producing fun flair badges to start, and now only 2 months later offer patterned paper, stamps, and paper tags as well.  I am so happy they are getting their name out there, and thrilled that they have welcomed me on to design for them.

This layout of Théa and her friends Sabrina and Maya was created using several of the patterned papers available in the collection.  Along with a few of the flair pieces.
The title was made using October Afternoon mini market stickers and a free Heidi Swapp cut file.
The polar grid mask is one I made using the Silhouette also, it was super easy, and someday if I ever figure out how to offer files for free on my blog I will give it to you.  I sprayed over the mask with Hiedi Swapp Color Shine.  I did the same thing down in the bottom right corner.

You can check out the Cre8tive Cre8tions shop here.  And there's load of inspiration on her blog here.

Speaking of Color Shine, I had this layout up on the Cre8tive Cre8tions blog and Instagram last week,  where it caught the attention of the one and only Ms. Heidi Swapp and her team.
She even asked if she could re-post it.  Crazy right?!

Oh and remember this About A Boy layout?
It caught the attention of Echo Park, and was re-posted on their Instagram page.  It was also featured as a Gallery Highlight at scrapbookupdate.com.  Not bad for one layout, I thought.

That's it for me today.  I hope you're enjoying the day wherever you may find yourself today.  Thanks as always for stopping by! Pin It

Happy Monday

Welcome to a brand new week friends.

Not sure what the weather is like in your corner of the world, but I am so ready for the snow to be gone and the lazy days of Summer to be upon us once again.

Reading on the deck, with the sun beaming down on me, and a drink in hand is one of my absolute favourite things to do in the summer.
I have this layout up on the Chic Tags blog today.  I would love if you'd pop over to have a peek.

Here's another one I had up recently on the Cre8tive Cre8tions blog recently, thought I'd share it with you all too.
Let loose with the stamping, masking, and paint.  Love the end result.  You are definitely going to be seeing more of this on my pages.

Lastly I, I have this layout up on the Cre8tive Cre8tions blog today.

If you're up for a little bit of a hop I'd love to see you over there too.  The designers are amazing, so much talent over there working with Andrea's fabulous flair, papers, and stamps.

It's a busy week around here, one that will end in an 11 year old's birthday party and a road trip to Calgary.  Lots to do in the meantime to prepare for both.  Hope your week is off to a great start.

Chic Tags Sunday Challenge

Happy Sunday friends,

Sunday means another challenge at Chic Tags.  This week the challenge is to do like Ali taught us and scrap A Day In The Life.  I picked Wednesday of last week to document.  Nothing special, just an ordinary day around here.  There weren't a lot of pix, but it was still pretty cool to document one day out of my life.

And some close ups of the Chic Tags used.

The title was made by creating a mask with may Cameo and spraying over it with Heidi Swapp Colour Shine in Chartreuse and Tropical Teal
Journaling reads "I truly think it's a wonderful experience to document our lives through photos on a regular ordinary day.  All too often you hear, "treasure it, it goes by so fast."  I have no doubt that before I know it, my girls will be grown and gone, living lives of their own, and I'll wonder what it was that kept me so busy when they were young.  On this particular day there wasn't a whole lot of running around to do like usual.  No Dance, no piano, no groceries to get, just a regular day.  I did take the RAV in, it needs new tires, and several things were repaired.  Big bucks = no fun.  But ended the day winning a coffee at Tim's, meeting Will's partner, and 83 likes on IG.  All in all, it was one fine day to be me!"

Hope you'll pop over to the Blog to see what the rest of the DT was up to this week, and link up a layout of your own for your chance at a scrappy prize.

Have a wonderful day friends.  Thanks so much for popping by! Pin It

Winners

Hooray for the weekend!

It's an even sweeter one for a couple of my blog readers today.  I have two winners to post.

First up is the winner of my rak for the Let's Get Sketchy blog hop.  Receiving a bundle of hand selected flair is...
Congratulations Lisa!
I will get your goodies in the mail to you as soon as we connect.  And a big thank you once again to Andrea Gomoll of Cre8tive Cre8tions for donating some of her fabulous flair especially for this event.

Second is my winner for the Creating With Sketches Vol 2 giveaway.  Receiving their very own copy of the newly released digital book is...
Congratulations Kelly!
I will be sending your email address to Kristine today, and she will get your copy out to you asap.  Thank you once again to Kristine for the generous prize.

And a big thanks again to YOU, and everyone who takes the time to stop by my home on the web, especially those who leave behind a comment.  I love this hobby, and have been blessed to work with some really great people, and teams over the past few years.  It is a real pleasure to share that with all of you.

I'll leave you with a layout I created last week just for fun with the awesome new DYI collection by Create Paper.

The photo is one of Eden and I taken under the mirrored ceiling outside of the Winnipeg Art Gallery.  I had the opportunity to join her class on a field trip a couple of weeks ago.  I loved watching her love of learning and creativity come alive as we toured the Inuit exhibit, and created screen prints in the Art Studio later.

Detail shots:

Thanks for stopping by today friends, and especially to those who take a moment to comment.  Your encouragement and friendship across the miles means so much to be.  Be blessed today!
