It's a Hop!

Welcome to the A Flair For Buttons/The Cut Shoppe blog hop.  We are so glad you are joining us in gathering some fun inspo using two of my favourite scrapbook go tos, flair buttons and cut files. Both Ashley and Shelley create fun and easy to incorporate designs.

I loved this Cross My Heart background cut file the first time I saw it in The Cut Shoppe Etsy store.  I had this photo of my two guys waiting to be scrapped, and this worked perfectly.  I was itching to create a black and white layout too.  I had picked up these paper from my local LSS a while back so it felt good to pull them out and finally put them to use.

 Needless to say our Toy Poodle is more of a toy than a canine in our home :)

 Ashley created some super fun flair that worked great with my chosen colour scheme and design.

I think I will always be a sucker for camera, and heart flair, and this sweet button has both those elements.

For my 2nd layout I really wanted to use this photo my oldest daughter got of my youngest daughter and I.  it was somewhat of a candid as she was just testing out the settings of the camera before the guest of honor arrived at the wedding shower we were helping to put on last weekend.  The soft, feminine tones of the Girl Flair, and the Freeze Frame cute file were a perfect match.

I really can't believe how quickly my girls are growing up.  This one looks more like 13 than she does 11.  I've learned that "they" were right all along, it really does go much too fast.

Gossamer Blue Love

When the new collection by Gossamer Blue arrived on my doorstep, I immediately fell in love with the colour combination and the patterns of the Gramercy Road, so much so that if I could by clothing with the same colours and patterns I would.

Because I was so inspired by the products, this layout came together in under 90 minutes, which for me is almost record time for such a detailed layout, stitching included.  

I am such a sucker for labels, I really like using them to help layer my elements, and every once in a while, I'll actually use them for writing on.  The pre-typed journaling strip that came in the ephemera package was perfect.  In fact that little package is loaded with 50 different pre-cut shapes and phrases.  A great deal for a chronic embellisher like myself.

The wood veneer pieces like this one here are from the On My Desk collection. There were just too awesome to pass up.  From the fun, funky shapes, to the words in multiple sizes this is a great set.

That cluster of ephemera pieces makes me happy.  Love the chartreuse with the the soft pink, and blue. The little pre-typed label is another one from the ephemera package.  With so many fun details all I needed, was to add 2 little strips of typed journaling, and voilà, done.  I love when a layout comes together that quickly.  All thanks to new product that inspired my creative senses, and the fun of wearing my beloved cowboy boots that morning.
