Oh Baby!

Did you know that Chic Tags has some really cute baby themed tags?  They are part of a recently released collection called Oh Baby!  There is a pink line for girls and a blue line for boys.  It's been a while since I have heard the pitter patter of little feet in my home, but I just had to use these sweet tags on a layout.

This is where sweet, sweet Ella comes in.
This little lady sure knows how to light up a room.  She's so intelligent, and cuter than a button.  Her mom sent me this adorable photo of her loving her new pink tutu, a perfect match for the Oh Baby! collection.

Because I didn't really have the exact shade of pink in any of my patterned papers, I decided to go with a variety of pinks, mixed with some black, white, and off white.  I really like the end result.

If you know my scrappy style, you know how much I love office supply tags.  How cute are these Oh Baby! ones, shown here tucked behind the "Sweet Baby Girl Icon"

That super cute chevron card is also form the collection

See that circle/star cut file?  It's a Chic Tags cut file, you can grab it yourself for FREE right here.

I many no longer have babies to raise, but I am not going to let that stop me from using the adorable Oh Baby collection.

Hope you feel inspired to create something beautiful today!

Altered memorabilia pocket

In our home we have a lot of papers/notes that need a home from time to time.  Things  like: permission slips, or fund raising forms the girls bring home from school.  There are also checks that need to be deposited, and letters/cards to be placed in the mail.  Because my fridge is stainless steel, I can no longer use magnets to simply tack things onto the front of the fridge.  We found a solution in the form of our garage access door.  It's not pretty but it works as far as tacking papers that need to be returned/mailed/signed/deposited, etc to it with magnets.  It works, but drives me crazy to look at.

Enter this Simple Stories memorabilia pocket, ribbon, pins, and stickers.
A pretty little pocket to hold all the 'stuff'.  I simply use magnets to hold it to the door and voila, no more eye sore of a door every time I leave the house.  Cute and functional.  Thank you Simple Stories for not only creating fabulous and fun papers and embellishments for our scrapbooks, but also wonderful items like this that are mulit-funcional.

Thanks for stopping in today friends.  Have a wonderful Monday!

I Made Cards!!!

You're shocked, I know, because I never make cards.  Funny thing is that, that's how I started scrapbooking.  Years ago my sister-in-law began selling Creative Memories product.  She wanted me to host a party to help her get started.  I was pretty set on the fact that I would not be getting into scrapping anytime soon (time, cost, too many hobbies, etc), but thought I'd help her out, and at least buys some pens and paper since I made cards.  Needless to say things changed.  As I began scrapping more, and meeting more advanced card makers I pretty much stopped making cards all together.  I was too intimidated by others' amazing creations (a-hem, Danni, Shellye, Anabelle...to name a few) and began seeing my own  creations as sub-standard.  I simply put the craft aside and carried on with scrapping.  Fast forward to a couple of months ago when I won this stamp set from my friend, and fellow DT member at Scrapping Everyday Miracles, Elizabeth.
Set C1467 - Spring
I thought it would be such a waste to just let them sit there untouched, and couldn't bring myself to just give them away or hand them down to my kids.  My friend Hilde also won the same set (Elizabeth is sweet like that, and offered up two sets as a prize).  All those things combined left only one option.  Hunker down, get over myself and make some cards.

I managed to create 4 cards one afternoon.
I'm doing something new today; guesting on a friend's blog.  I was invited by Elizabeth, my friend, and fellow Scrapping Everyday DT member to guest for her, as she's doing a "Feature a Friend Friday" on her blog.  To see these cards in detail I hope you will  pop over to her blog and check them out.

As an extra little surprise today Hilde and I have decided to treat you to a "twin post".  Seeing as we both won the same set, we thought it would be fun to create together.  Well not so much together as in the same room, at the same time, seeing as she's over 4000 miles away, but rather in the same week.  She is a real sweetheart with a great sense of humour, a heart full of love, and a big shoulder to lean on/cry on when needed.  Her style is simple, yet playful  with fun little touches throughout.  She's my dear friend, and I know she'd appreciate the visit.  You can see her fabulous creations with set C1467 here.  Please leave her some love, and say hi for me.

Before I go I just want to extend a huge thank you to Elizabeth for inviting me to guest for her today.  I hope you are able to stop by and say hello.  I wouldn't even mind if you left me a little love *wink*.

Have a wonderful day friends!
