December Moments Album Pt 1

I've never been able to create a base for an album and fill it later.  I don't know why, but I just can't do it.  I know many of you took the Stocking Stuffer Class here, and walked away with a gorgeously filled album all ready to go for the season, and that's great.  As I filled a little more of mine this past week, however, it got me wondering if anyone else is in the same boat as I.  If you can relate, then let this post serve to support and encourage you.

I don't have all that many photos (I tend to go some years with a boatload of photos, and other years with only a handful.  This year is on the skimpy side), so I debated not putting anything together at all, but knew that I would regret it later on.  As the kids are getting older, and bigger, and life seems to be whizzing by at lightning speed I find so much joy in looking back at the old Christmas albums (they get pulled out each year with the rest of the Christmas decor), that's enough motivation to pull something together, even if it's just simple.

I decided to go with a Simple Stories binder, the December This Life Noted kit, a few pieces from the Home For The Holidays Kit, and some items from my stash.

Here is my cover.  I used a freebie file for the Christmas cut, and created the date frame with my Silhouette Cameo.  Nothing flashy, but a little better than the naked chipboard (although it did cross my mind just to leave it natural, I won't lie).

Title Page
I used the December cut file from the Scraptastic Stocking Stuffer class and tweaked it a bit to create the title for my album.  I decided to go with "December Moments" as I knew there were only going to be a few photos over the course of the month, and not one a day.

It says Favourites on the left, but that polka dot paper was not the best choice.

I just had to sneak a couple of birthday photos in the album seeing as it's smack dab in the middle of the month.  Those This Life Noted cards were perfect to help document our evening too.

So you see?  No need to make it a big deal with all sorts of bling, and embellies.  It just as to be, whatever is right for you.  Whatever will bring a smile to your face when you pull it out years down the road.  I still have Christmas day to print and get in the album, hope to get that done before long.

I hope that if you've been putting off putting together a little something for your Christmas photos that you've been inspired to print them out and get them in some sort of album.  Big or small, fancy or not. this hobby is all about preserving our memories, in the best way that we can. Pin It

I love your album, and I'm totally the same, I can't prepare my album early, I need the photos!

I'm with you Sherri! I can't do a base album either. I have to create each page, as I have the photos. Love what you did with your album and the cover is so pretty!

I like this guess the reason I can't complete any pages because I am forcing the effort to be something extra.
